Motorola Solutions Inc. Q1 Profit Rises 6%

(RTTNews) - Motorola Solutions Inc. (MSI) released earnings for its first quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $166 million, or $0.52 per share. This was up from $156 million, or $0.38 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.40 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.5% to $1.19 billion. This was down from $1.22 billion last year.
