MoneyGram Announces New Global Business Center in Poland

MoneyGram (NASDAQ: MGI), a leading global money transfer and payment services company, today announced the opening of a new location in Warsaw, Poland as part of its global transformation program launched earlier this year. The MoneyGram Global Business Center, opening in fall 2014, will create a cross-functional center of excellence and a hub for MoneyGram’s operations, further expanding the Company’s global presence.

"MoneyGram’s global transformation program is designed to improve our operating efficiencies and accelerate innovation. Poland’s business-friendly environment and dynamic workforce complements MoneyGram’s long-term goal to reach $2 billion in revenue in 2017,” said Pamela H. Patsley, MoneyGram’s chairman and chief executive officer. "As a company operating in more than 200 countries, MoneyGram already has nearly 7,000 Polish agent locations. Poland is an important part of our business as a top remittance receive country, and its strong economic growth also makes it an increasingly important send market. We are excited to expand our presence in this vibrant economy.”

The new Global Business Center is an integral part of MoneyGram’s broader global talent strategy. The Warsaw location will primarily be a shared-services center with a variety of functions, including information technology, finance, compliance, human resources and customer care and agent services operations. MoneyGram’s sales and account management teams for this region will also be based in Warsaw.

Poland is the only European Union member to avoid a recession during the financial crisis, and many Fortune 500 companies have established business service centers in Poland. Warsaw offers a strong labor force that is ready to do business across cultures and languages, ensuring a smooth transition for MoneyGram’s global, cross-functional teams.

The Global Business Center brings MoneyGram closer to delivering on its global transformation program which will help the Company lead the industry in compliance, fuel multi-channel growth and improve its cost structure. These actions are designed to ensure MoneyGram achieves its goal of being the preferred global provider to send and receive funds.
