Medtronic Board Approves Increased Quarterly Cash Dividend; Dividend Increases 14.3 Percent
The board of directors of Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE:MDT),today approved a cash dividend of $0.11 per share of the company'scommon stock, an increase of 14.3 percent over each of the previousfour quarterly dividends. This dividend is consistent with Medtronic'shistory of paying out approximately 20 percent of prior year earningsin the form of cash dividends. Medtronic has paid a dividend since thebeginning of fiscal 1978 and has increased its dividend each year.
The dividend is payable on July 28, 2006, to shareholders ofrecord at the close of business on July 7, 2006.
