Medical Properties Trust Prices Stock Offering At $14.50/share

(RTTNews) - Medical Properties Trust, Inc. (MPW) said it has priced its underwritten public offering of 30 million shares of common stock at a public offering price of $14.50 per share, a 1.8 percent increase over the prior day's close of $14.24.

The closing price of the shares on January 8, 2015 was $14.73. The company has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 4.50 million shares of its common stock.

Medical Properties intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay borrowings made under its revolving credit facility to finance a portion of its previously announced acquisition of Median Kliniken S.à r.l. as well as related financing and sale-leaseback transactions. The company noted that the offering is not conditioned upon the successful completion of the Median transactions.
