Lincoln Tech Expands Welding Training to Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS, March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC), a national leader in specialized technical training, will introduce a new Welding and Metal Fabrication training program this spring in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indianapolis campus will become the fifth Lincoln Tech school around the country to provide training for welding careers, which are projected to increase by nearly 130,000 in the next 10 years according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
"We look forward to expanding our program offering to include training for welding and metal fabrication careers, because we consistently hear from area employers that they can't find enough candidates with the right skills to join their teams," says Campus President Daniel Richins. "The motorsports industry, which of course thrives in Indiana, is just one of many in need of welders. We are also seeing great demand across fields like construction, transportation, manufacturing, and agriculture."
In the new program, students will practice both MIG and TIG welding processes, along with processes such as Shielded Metal and Flux Core Arc Welding. The curriculum also includes an OSHA-approved safety course, and upon completion students will also be eligible to receive Level One credentials from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
The first class for the Welding and Metal Fabrication Technology program in Indianapolis is scheduled for June 25th. Lincoln Tech has also been approved to begin offering Welding training later this year at its campuses in South Plainfield, New Jersey and Columbia, Maryland. These locations join Lincoln's campuses in Denver, Colorado; East Windsor, Connecticut; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee which currently offer welding career training.
