KPMG Webcast to Examine New Tax Reform Law from the Non-tax Professional Perspective
NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG's Tax Governance Institute (TGI) will present a live 90-minute video webcast for the non-tax professional on the new U.S. tax law, today from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. EST. Board and audit committee members, CFOs, tax directors and other business professionals interested in attending the program can register here.
The webcast, titled "Tax Reform 101," will aim to arm business professionals with what they need to know about the new framework (H.R. 1), examining opportunities and challenges the new legislation may hold for enterprises and the U.S. economy and outlining how companies are planning to tackle the law's implementation.
Jeffrey C. LeSage, Americas Vice Chairman—Tax at KPMG, will host the webcast. Joining him will be JohnGimigliano, Partner-in-Charge of Federal Legislative and Regulatory Services in KPMG's Washington National Tax practice, who will moderate a discussion with Louise Weingrod, Vice President, Global Taxation at Johnson & Johnson; William Van Saders, Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel—Corporate Taxes at Verizon Communications; and KPMG's Chief Economist Constance Hunter.
"Throughout 2017, board members and C-suite and finance executives have been turning to their tax teams for high-level updates on the legislative process and the possible impacts of various proposals," said LeSage. "Now, with H.R. 1 on the books, business leaders will have to determine how to best adapt, revamp, or even transform their businesses and other corporate structures to capitalize on this sweeping legislation."
Added Gimigliano: "After years of pursuing tax reform, Congress finally made reform a reality, but that new reality brings changes to our tax system—changes that businesses must embrace quickly. Our goal with this webcast is to provide a roadmap for non-tax professionals to the new law's implications for their business operations."
