Kirby Corp Bottom Line Climbs In Q4

(RTTNews) - Kirby Corp (KEX) announced a profit for its fourth quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $231.32 million, or $3.87 per share. This was up from $32.36 million, or $0.60 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.51 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 62.5% to $708.11 million. This was up from $435.65 million last year.
