Khurram Sheikh of Powerwave Technologies to Moderate Wireless Panel at the 2008 SCTE Conference on Emerging Technologies

(NASDAQ:PWAV), a global supplier of wireless infrastructure solutions, will serve as the moderator for a pre-conference tutorial at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Conference on Emerging Technologies, taking place in Los Angeles, California, January 14 through 16, 2008.   The pre-conference tutorial, entitled "Wireless: .a to .z," will provide an overview of wireless technologies as they pertain to the cable marketplace. In addition, the session will outline various applications, ranging from in-home Wi-Fi to WiMAX, and the industry standards initiatives currently surrounding these applications.   Panelists participating in the tutorial moderated by Mr. Sheikh are Michael Hayashi, senior vice president, & Technology, Time Warner Cable; Stephen Bye, vice president, Wireless Strategy & Development, Cox Communications; and Mike Roudi, vice president, Wireless, Time Warner Cable.   During the session, three technical papers will also be presented. They include "Beyond Cable: Opportunities with 4G Wireless Broadband" by Alan Pritchard, vice president, Account Development, Nortel; "Leveraging Cable Infrastructure with Wireless Extension to Deliver Seamless Triple Play Services Outside the Home" by David C. Hartrum, R&D engineer, Motorola-H&NM and, "Wireless Coverage Analysis and Prediction: Getting it Right" by Dean A. Stoneback, senior manager, Systems Engineering, Motorola-H&NM.   The SCTE Emerging Technology Conference brings together industry thought leaders--the movers and shakers in the cable telecommunications industry - for two days of high level technical discussions on key aspects that may transform the industry in the next three to five years.   WHO: Khurram P.
