Jim Beam(R) Bourbon and Southern Wine & Spirits of New York Build on Support of Terry Farrell Scholarship Fund

Jim Beam®, the world’s number one selling bourbon, and its distributors, proudly announce their renewed commitment and support of the Terry Farrell Firefighters Scholarship Fund. For the second consecutive year, Jim Beam® bourbon has created a dedicated quantity of commemorative label bottles to honor this important charity which provides much needed financial aid to the sons and daughters of New York firefighters. Last year, Southern Wine & Spirits (SWS) of New York, a wholesale wine and spirits distributor, initiated the program with Jim Beam, which was concentrated in the Manhattan area. This year, Jim Beam distributors in New York State, northern New Jersey, and Fairfield County, Connecticut have joined the program and will donate a portion of sales from more than 5,600 cases of the limited edition bottles sold. "We are honored to expand our partnership and donate proceeds from the sale of these limited edition Jim Beam bottles and from the sale of Jim Beam® White, Jim Beam Black®, and Jim Beam’s Choice® bourbon to help raise awareness and provide an opportunity for the children of those who serve or have served the FDNY,” stated Larry Romer, vice president, general manager, Spirits Division, Southern Wine & Spirits of New York. "We are proud to continue supporting Southern Wine & Spirits (SWS) and all of our distributors in their efforts to raise funds for this outstanding organization through the production of limited edition special label Jim Beam bottles. We have been overwhelmed by the support this initiative has received from the community,” stated Keith Neumann, global vice president, Jim Beam bourbon. "We pride ourselves on the quality of the bourbon inside each bottle of Jim Beam and salute Terry Farrell and the thousands of other firefighters who are true examples of everyday heroes embodying the essence of Jim Beam, ‘The Stuff Inside Matters Most.’” Terry Farrell Fund special label bottles are available in on- and off-premise retail locations in the New York metro area and upstate New York, northern New Jersey, and Fairfield County, Connecticut, as well as in duty-free shops in Newark, JFK, and LaGuardia airports beginning as of July. Further extending its support, Jim Beam distributors in these locations will also donate a portion of sales to the scholarship fund from every case of Jim Beam® White Label 4-Year-Old Bourbon Whiskey, Jim Beam Black® Label 8-Year-Old Bourbon Whiskey and Jim Beam’s Choice® Bourbon Whiskey sold during 2007, up to a maximum contribution of $44,000. Since 2005, over $100,000 has been raised in support of this program. Events are planned to celebrate this partnership on August 3rd at the East Syracuse Fire Department, in Syracuse, New York and the following week at the Mirage Nightclub in Westbury, Long Island. At the Syracuse event on August 3rd, Larry Romer, of SWS, will make a presentation to the brothers of Terry Farrell, a fallen firefighter who along with 342 of his rescue co-workers was a victim of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Scholarships awarded from the fund are open to a child or children of an active duty, retired, disabled or deceased firefighter who is, or has served in the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) or a volunteer department. While keeping with the current look and feel of the traditional Jim Beam® label, special edition labels were created for this fundraising effort with slight modifications from the 2006 label. In place of the Jim Beam logo on the face of the bottle there is a fire hat bearing the number 343, signifying the number of firefighters in Terry Farrell’s squad who were killed on September 11, 2001. Additionally, the side of the bottle provides details on the sponsorship along with the website address for the fund, www.terryfarrellfund.org, urging consumers to visit the site to make a donation or to learn more. The 2007 bottle will also be topped by a red cap, signifying a firefighter helmet. "We are proud of the work this scholarship fund does to help families of firefighters,” stated Brian Farrell, Terry Farrell Fund president. "The way Jim Beam and their distributors have shown their support over the past years has been tremendous. The scholarship fund is a true testament to the memory of Terry Farrell, a proud, dedicated and highly motivated firefighter. We appreciate the increased awareness that is created through the added support of Jim Beam and the special label commemorative bottles,” continued Farrell. *High-resolution images of the limited edition labels available upon request About Beam Global Spirits & Wine: Inspiring conversations around the world, Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc., is building brands people want to talk about.
