JetBlue Airways Corp. Announces 45% Advance In Q1 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) reported a profit for its first quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $199 million, or $0.59 per share. This was higher than $137 million, or $0.40 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.53 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.6% to $1.62 billion. This was up from $1.52 billion last year.
