(RTTNews) - JDS Uniphase Corp (JDSU) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net loss of $25.4 million or $0.11 per share, compared to net income $92.5 million or $0.38 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $34.2 million or $0.14 per share, compared with $30.4 million or $0.13 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $448.60 million, compared with $421.30 million in the prior year.

On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.13 per share on revenues of $436.80 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings of $0.08 to $0.12 per share and revenues of $405 million to $425 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.14 per share on revenues of $440.94 million.
