Business Editors/High-Tech Editors
WESTMINSTER, Colo. & NOVATO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2005--
The Inventor and CATIA V5 Plug-ins for TurboCAD(R) Professional
Provide Users with Greater Levels of Data Interoperability
Spatial Corp., a Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY)(Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) company and market-leading provider of 3D components, and IMSI(R) (OTCBB: IMSI) a leading developer and publisher of consumer, business and precision design software solutions, today announced the availability of the Plug-ins for AutoDesk Inventor and CATIA V5 for TurboCAD Professional Version 11. Based on data translators provided by Spatial, the new plug-ins further enhance the interoperability power of TurboCAD and increase the number of supported file formats to 30.
The new plug-ins are a valuable addition to TurboCAD and are capable of generating models that can be used in any stage of a product life-cycle, from concept through maintenance. Each translator is built upon proven ACIS technology to ensure accurate and reliable data translation. ACIS tolerant modeling and surface repair functions are automatically performed by the translators to reduce the need for manual healing of translated models, ensuring that translated solids and surfaces are as accurate as possible. As the foundation for TurboCAD's new plug-ins the Spatial translators allow TurboCAD users to apply the diverse feature-set of TurboCAD to existing data files.
"We selected the Inventor and CATIA V5 translators from Spatial because they leverage the interoperability power of ACIS and provide superior results," said Robert Mayer, Executive Vice President of IMSI. "Our goal was to provide our users with the most seamless translation possible and we believe these new plug-ins will accomplish that while expanding the range of TurboCAD's capabilities."
"With a large TurboCAD install base in the market TurboCAD is an excellent example of what is possible when ACIS and Spatial's InterOp translators are implemented effectively," said Phil Spreier, Product Manager, Interoperability Products, Spatial. "Spatial has a long history with IMSI and we are pleased that we can continue to provide them products that benefit not only their business but also their expansive customer base as well."
