IDEX Q1 Profit Tops View; Issues Q2 EPS Outlook

(RTTNews) - IDEX Corp. (IEX) Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $74.5 million or $0.91 per share, compared to $61.3 million or $0.74 per share in the same period last year.

On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.84 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales increased 10% to $544.01 million from $494.45 million last year, while thirteen analysts expected sales of $527.21 million.

Looking ahead, the company has forecast second-quarter earnings in the range of $0.85 to $0.87 per share and increased full year 2014 earnings guidance to $3.38 to $3.45.

Analysts currently expect second-quarter earnings of $0.87 per share and full year 2014 earnings of $3.40 per share.
