HyundaiMotor America September Sales Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - HyundaiMotor America (HYMLF.PK, HYMTF.PK) Tuesday reported September sales of 55,102 units, down 8 percent from 60,025 units last year. On a selling-day adjusted basis, September improved one percent over last year.

"A shorter selling month certainly contributed to a market pull-back during the month of September," said Dave Zuchowski, EVP of national sales.

Elantra sales were up eight percent to 19,691 units from 18,305 units last year. Accent sales increased 16 percent to 4,999 units from 4,313 units last year. With a growth of 67 percent, Azera led the pack with sales of 1,487 units.

Meanwhile, Sonata and Tucson models had its sales down to 13,872 units and 2,849 units, respectively.

"With significantly updated 2014 versions of Tucson, Santa Fe and Sonata arriving in retail stores this week, we're looking forward to replenishing the remaining holes in our dealer stock and meeting consumer demand for these key models in the strong crossover and mid-size segments. "
