Hyatt Hotels Posts Higher Q3 Profit, Tops View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Hyatt Hotels Corp. (H) reported an improvement in third-quarter 2013 net income attributable to the company to $55 million, or $0.35 per share, from $23 million, or $0.14 per share, in the 2012 period. Adjusted for special items, net income attributable to Hyatt was $36 million, or $0.23 per share, in the recent period. On average, 22 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.21 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Total revenues of $1.03 billion in the quarter, were higher than the prior year's $977 million, while fifteen analysts estimated revenues of $1.03 billion for the quarter. On a year-over-year comparison, quarterly comparable owned and leased hotel RevPAR increased 6.0%.

On October 29, 2013, the board authorized the repurchase of up to an additional $200 million of common stock.
