Hitachi Consulting Refines Technology Offering to Fortune 1000 Companies

Hitachi Consulting, the business and IT consulting company of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT), sharpens its focus on helping companies solve problems using technology across the enterprise by naming Brian Erickson managing vice president of its Strategic Technology Solutions (STS) practice. Since its inception, Hitachi Consulting has played a key role in helping companies solve business problems with technology. "Going beyond the traditional designs, we are now helping our clients determine how to leverage a Service Oriented Architecture approach as they strive to integrate, simplify, standardize and innovate across their application portfolios,” said Mr. Erickson. "We have tapped our deep expertise in custom developed solutions and system integration as the foundation for the creation of our Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) offering.” "In a very short time period we have been able to assist a number of our clients in implementing SOA solutions that help solve business challenges. We believe that the SOA approach will continue to play a crucial role in helping technologists solve business problems and that Hitachi Consulting will be a strategic partner in these efforts,” Mr. Erickson said recently from his Dallas office. "The creation of the STS practice, with Brian Erickson at the helm, shows that we understand there is a direct link between technology solutions and our clients’ success. Brian played a key role in the creation of our systems integration practice, which helped lay the groundwork for our growing SOA initiatives and the overall success of the company,” said Hitachi Consulting U.S. COO Philip Parr. The STS solution group includes service offerings in IT strategy, software selection, IT operational effectiveness, service oriented architecture strategy and development and custom application software development. Mr. Erickson has more than 20 years experience helping companies develop and execute large, complex, strategic information systems plans.
