HCA Q2 Results Top Estimates - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Healthcare firm HCA Holdings, Inc. (HCA) Wednesday said its second-quarter attributable net income increased to $507 million or $1.18 per share from $483 million or $1.07 per share in the previous year.

Net income per share excluding losses on sales of facilities and losses on retirement of debt, was $1.37 per share, same as last year. On average, 22 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $1.34 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 7.2 percent to $9.897 billion from last year's $9.230 billion. Analysts expected revenues of $9.82 billion.

The company now expects adjusted earnings per share for the year to be near the high-end of its previously issued guidance range of $4.90 - $5.30 per share. Revenues are estimated to be $39.0 billion to $40.0 billion.

Analysts look for earnings of $5.28 per share on revenues of $39.53 billion.
