Harley-Davidson Recalls Nearly 3,300 Motorcycles Due To Ignition Issue

(RTTNews) - Harley-Davidson (HOG), Friday said that it is recalling about 3,300 motorcycles citing ignition switch failure.

The American motorcycle manufacturer said, "If the vibration causes the ignition to switch over to the accessory only position, the motorcycle would stall while riding, increasing the risk of a crash".

The Wisconsin based motorcycle manufacturer has recalled 3,361 of the 5 FXDL motorcycles manufactured January 6, 2014, through June 19, 2014. In the affected motorcycles, certain optional performance electronic control module calibrations may allow higher engine rpms that could result in engine vibrations that cause the ignition switch to move from the ignition on to accessory only position, which will shut the engine off.
