Greif Q3 Profit Decreases - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Industrial packaging products maker Greif Inc. (GEF), Wednesday reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of $12.2 million or $0.21 per Class A share, compared to $46.7 million or $0.80 per Class A share in the comparable quarter last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.84 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue for the latest third quarter rose 2.8% to $1.16 billion from $1.13 billion a year ago, while seven analysts expected revenues of $1.17 billion.

On August 26, 2014, the Board of Directors declared quarterly cash dividends of $0.42 per share of Class A Common Stock and $0.63 per share of Class B Common Stock. These dividends are payable on October 1, 2014, to stockholders of record at close of business on September 19, 2014.

For fiscal 2014, the company expects Class A earnings per share guidance of $1.98 to $2.08. Analysts currently expect fiscal 2014 earnings of $2.81 per share.
