Armstrong was named this year's Strategic Association Leader after being nominated by a fellow MSAE member. He received the award based on his service to GreenStone and MSAE, as well as to the agriculture industry as a whole.
"Dave is incredibly deserving of this prestigious honor," said Scott Roggenbuck, chairman of GreenStone's board of directors. "His thoughtful leadership sets the tone for GreenStone, and is evident in the exceptional customer satisfaction ratings the organization has received during his tenure. Additionally, Dave is a well-respected member of the agriculture industry and is often sought out to provide analysis and insight on issues facing the industry."
"Dave enriches everything he takes part in through MSAE. He understands that by keeping his perspectives, knowledge, and connections fresh, he will continue to grow as a leader," said Cheryl Ronk, CAE, FASAE, president of MSAE. "Dave finds value in every opportunity he is presented with and makes sure everyone else in the room gets the value, too."
The Diamond Award signifies a demonstrated ability and commitment to going beyond the expected standards of service and professionalism. The award reflects outstanding leadership and achievement in association management. The award winner is decided through a vote from the 15-person Diamond Awards task force comprised of MSAE members representing a variety of industries. To guide their decision, task force members are asked to consider the nominee's service to MSAE, outstanding career leadership, achievements within their current and/or past organization, contributions to other voluntary membership organizations, and participation in civic and community affairs.
Armstrong will be honored at the 12th Annual Diamond Awards ceremony held in Rochester, Michigan.
