GoPro Making Mobile Editing App

(RTTNews) - GoPro Inc. (GPRO) is reportedly working on a new mobile app that will allow the users of its action-sports camera to edit and share videos from their smartphones.

According to tech blog techcrunch.com, GoPro president Tony Bates has revealed that the company will launch the new app, which is in the final stage of testing, by the end of summer.

Currently, users of GoPro's action camera have to go through a labor intensive process of using a video editing software in order to trim hours of video footage to a small video. This new mobile app is expected to help users to manage their videos more effectively and efficiently and at the same time rely less on computers.

GoPro had yesterday released its second-quarter earnings, with both earnings and revenues trumping the Street's expectations.
