FTI Consulting Q2 Profit Rises; Lowers FY13 View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Business advisory firm FTI Consulting, Inc (FCN) Thursday reported an increase in second-quarter net income, reflecting higher revenues and the absence of special charges. In addition, the company lowered its full-year guidance.

For the three-month period, the company reported net income of $23.4 million or $0.58 per share, compared with $7.7 million or $0.18 per share during the same quarter last year. On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.61 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

The company's revenues increased to $414.6 million from the prior year's $396.2 million. Analysts expect the company to report revenues of $413.36 million.

Due to softness in North America restructuring, the company lowered its revenues expectations to between $1.62 billion and $1.65 billion from prior expectations of $1.63 billion and $1.70 billion. Adjusted earnings are now expected to be between $2.10 and $2.20 per share, lower from earlier expectations of $2.40 and $2.60 per share. Analysts expect the company to report earnings per share of $2.53 per share, on revenues of $1.65 billion.
