FTI Consulting Appoints Stephen H. Rosen as Leader of the Pension Consulting Services Practice

Rosen has been appointed Leader of the pension consulting services practice. Rosen is a Managing Director in the firm's Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in New York.

The firm's pension consulting services practice is distinguished by its independence, providing private, public and not-for-profit sector clients and their advisors with objective second opinions, strategies and services. The firm's pension consulting services professionals help guide decisions, optimize performance and ensure compliance for meeting current and long-term objectives of retirement and employee benefit plans, addressing critical issues such as de-risking/liability risk management and fiduciary responsibility.

For more than 40 years, Rosen has served as a consultant to pension plan sponsors and their advisors, as well as law firms, accounting firms, actuarial firms and insurance companies. He is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (1975), an Enrolled Actuary (1976), a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (1976), a Certified Pension Consultant (1981) and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (2006). Rosen has served in various capacities with the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, including President (2005), Treasurer (2001-2003) and Board Director (1998-2003). Currently, he sits on the Executive Committee as Secretary of the American Academy of Actuaries. Rosen has been a frequent speaker/lecturer and has published a number of articles on pension-related issues. In addition, he has been involved as editor, author or co-author of Accountant's Guide to Employee Benefit Plans (co-author), Warren Gorham & Lamont; The Tax Reform Act of 1984 (co-author), Farnsworth Publishing Co.; Taxation for Accountants, The401(k)Handbook, FOCUS articles and Journal of Financial Services Professionals (editorial board).

Rosen holds a B.A. in mathematics from Rutgers University, with additional coursework in business administration at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and in actuarial science at the University of Iowa.
