Ethan Allen Joins Glamour Magazine in New Orleans Design Project

When the father of her three children was killed in a drive-by shooting twelve years ago, Donniecia Allen pressed on, working two jobs and taking business classes at night, determined to someday own a home for her family. Her hard work and determination was rewarded with the purchase of a four-bedroom brick ranch home in Orleans Parish four years ago, but her dream was soon shattered when Hurricane Katrina hit; her family lost everything, and their home was deemed uninhabitable. Thanks to a grant from Louisiana’s The Road Home program, Donniecia has been reconstructing the home she worked so hard for, and has begun to move back in. Then she’ll decorate—with a little help from Glamour magazine. Lifestyle editor Joanna Bober is advising her on everything from paint colors to throw pillows; meantime, Joanna has partnered with Ethan Allen to donate the living room furniture.
