Business Editors/High-Tech Editors
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2005--Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN) today announced the availability of a new, double conversion online, 8,000 -15,000 kVA uninterruptible power system (UPS), the Powerware 9155. The combined technical and design features of the Powerware 9155 make it a leader in the industry for providing highly reliable power protection for critical systems with the best customer value.
The slim and modern tower design of Eaton's Powerware 9155 produces the highest level of protection from power disturbances for critical equipment while saving valuable real estate in server rooms where floor space is scarce and costly. By delivering a 0.9 output power factor, Eaton's Powerware 9155 can easily accommodate today's high power factor load requirements and is well suited for modern servers and computer loads. Front access for all services and operations provides increased installation flexibility, while increasing serviceability and reducing repair time. Its unique multi-lingual LCD display and wide range of connectivity options make power management easy for IT and facility managers.
"The Powerware 9155 represents a significant technology leap that resets the industry standards in customer value and product performance," said Mark A. Ascolese, vice president, sales and marketing, Eaton's Power Quality Solutions Operation. "This new product is the result of listening carefully to what customers want and devoting over 40 years of accumulative power protection knowledge to significantly exceed what the industry has to offer today."
Eaton's Powerware 9155 features a double conversion online architecture that ensures immediate transfer to back-up power in the event of a power outage, and offers an impressive 22 minutes of back-up time at 10kVA. The system also addresses next-generation power requirements by providing a high efficiency of 90 percent, which reduces utility costs and produces cooler operating conditions. Eaton's Powerware 9155 UPSs are available in 8kVA, 10kVA, 12kVA and 15kVA, and feature a scalable design that allows users to "pay as they grow" to meet current and future load requirements.
"The new Eaton Powerware 9155 incorporates all the key features that made Eaton's Powerware Division the market share leader in UPSs over 5kVA globally, such as Powerware Hot Sync(R) technology for highly reliable paralleling for redundancy and capacity, Advanced Battery Management (ABM(R)) technology that significantly increases life of batteries, and complete software and connectivity options for ease of management," said Suzanne Burns, vice president and general manager, Power Protection Division, Eaton Corporation. "Then, we added technological advancements to make it compact, more user-friendly, and more cost-effective to meet customer demands."
Like other members of the Series 9 family of UPSs, Eaton's Powerware 9155 provides critical protection from all nine of the most common power problems facing businesses, including power failures, power sags, power surges, under voltages, over voltages, switching transients, line noises, frequency variations and harmonic distortions.
