Risk Considerations

Diversification does not eliminate risk. Although asset allocationamong different asset classes generally limits risk exposure to anyone class, the risk remains that the investment advisor of anunderlying fund may favor an asset class that performs poorly relativeto the other asset classes. On occasion, one or more of the underlyingfunds may experience relatively large investments or redemptions dueto reallocations or rebalancing of the fund by the managers. Thesetransactions may affect the investment as it experiences redemptionsas a result of reallocation or rebalancing. The portfolio may have tosell securities and may receive additional cash and may have to investsuch cash. The portfolio is subject to stock market risk. Stocks ofsmall companies involve greater risk than securities of larger,more-established companies, as they often have limited product lines, markets or financial resources and may be subject to more-erratic andmore-abrupt market movements. Investing in foreign securities presentscertain unique risks not associated with domestic investments, such ascurrency fluctuation, political and economic changes, and marketrisks. The portfolio invests in bond funds whose yields and marketvalues fluctuate, so that your investment may be worth more or lessthan its original cost. Derivatives may be more volatile and lessliquid than traditional securities, and the portfolio could sufferlosses on its derivative positions. Bond investments are subject tointerest-rate risk such that when interest rates rise, the prices ofthe bonds, and thus the value of the investment, can decline and theinvestor can lose principal value. All these factors may result ingreater share price volatility. Please read the prospectus forspecific details regarding the portfolio's risk profile.
