RIB Software AG (RSTA) signs a phase II iTWO contract (no. 22 / 2015) with Government Organization in China - Zhejiang BIM Service Center

Hangzhou, China, 15 December, 2015. RIB Software AG, the world's leading provider of 5D BIM Big Data technology for the construction industry, today announced the conclusion of the 22nd iTWO phase II contract of the planned 25 in the current financial year 2015 (financial year 2014: 14). The contract was signed with Zhejiang BIM Service Center, a government organization founded in 2015 in response to the BIM policy of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China and Zhejiang Province, and the demand from the industry.

As a government institution, Zhejiang BIM Service Center was founded with the mission of promoting BIM technologies and working methods to transform and upgrade construction industry in Zhejiang Province. The main efforts of the Center is invested in providing world-class BIM training and education, BIM talents assessment, introducing advanced BIM technologies, as well as developing BIM application standards for the industry in Zhejiang province. The center has the ambition of developing itself to be the most advanced BIM center in China, therefore it has made a global investigation on the world's leading BIM technologies, which finally led to the decision of cooperating with RIB. The main reason is that RIB provides not only the world's leading Big Data 5D BIM platform - iTWO, but also delivers the new thinking and new working methods to maximize the benefits of technology application.

Zhejiang BIM Service Center will use iTWO technology to support its BIM training and education for construction industry professionals and students in Zhejiang province together with Zhejiang University. The center will also use iTWO to develop Zhejiang province BIM standards. Most importantly the center will use iTWO platform for government projects, starting with Hangzhou Metro Line 5 Project, which is planned to be completed in 5 years. On behalf of the government, the center will coordinate the project stakeholders to manage the project on the collaborative iTWO 5D BIM Platform with the support of RIB. Based on the long-term cooperation, Zhejiang BIM Service Center will continuously purchase iTWO Phase II licenses for future projects.
