DeVry University Appoints Dr. David Stewart as Seattle Metro President

DeVry University has announced the appointment of Dr. David Stewart to the position of president of its Seattle Metro, which includes DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management locations in Federal Way and Bellevue, WA and Portland, OR. In his new position, Stewart’s responsibility is to ensure student success by hiring the most qualified faculty and supervising all of the Seattle Metro employees. Stewart replaces Reed Hackett, who has assumed the role of chief academic officer for the Seattle Metro after a seven year term as president. Dr. Stewart joined DeVry University in 2005 as an undergraduate and graduate admissions advisor. Most recently, Stewart held the position of center dean at DeVry University’s Bellevue location. Prior to DeVry, Stewart spent more than 22 years in various progressive roles with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. He earned a Ph.D. and MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and had previously taught at Southern Methodist University and Northern Michigan University. Replacing Dr. Stewart as dean of DeVry University’s Bellevue center is Yana Taskar. Taskar had been the admissions advisor for DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management at the Bellevue center. Prior to DeVry, she worked in various customer relations roles with Lamont’s and Nordstrom. Taskar earned an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from DeVry University.
