Delta Air Lines August Traffic And Capacity Rise - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL, DALRQ.PK) reported that its total System traffic in August 2015 increased 3.9% from August 2014, on a total System capacity increase of 4.2%.

The airline said its total system traffic for the month rose 3.9% to 20.82 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 20.03 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

Monthly Total system capacity was 23.83 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 4.2% from 22.87 billion ASMs in the prior year period.

Total System Load factor for the month was 87.3%, down 0.3 points from 87.6% reported last year.

Consolidated passenger unit revenue (PRASM) for the month of August decreased 6.5 percent year over year, consistent with recent trends of pressure from foreign exchange, lower surcharges in international markets, and yields in select domestic markets. In addition, unit revenues were negatively impacted by the timing of Labor Day holiday travel.
