Delaware Investments Continues to Expand Equity Teams

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delaware Investments announced today the addition of five new equity team members. Henry A. Garrido, Bruce Schoenfeld, Michael Tung, and Guojia Zhang have joined Delaware Investments as analysts with the Emerging Markets team based in Boston. These roles were created after Liu-Er Chen joined Delaware Investments in September 2006 with the goal of building an Emerging Markets team. Kevin Brown has also been named as Senior Investments Specialist for the Focus Growth Equity team based in San Francisco, effective immediately. Mr. Brown's addition to the Focus Growth Equity team adds new depth to an already well-established team.

Mr. Garrido joins the firm as an analyst for the Emerging Markets team, and is expected to focus on Latin American markets. Prior to joining the firm, he was senior analyst at Wells Capital Management. Mr. Garrido, who is fully bilingual in Spanish and English, received his bachelor's degree in economics from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and his MBA in finance from Columbia University.

Mr. Schoenfeld, who has more than 10 years' experience as an emerging markets analyst and portfolio manager, also joins the firm as an analyst and will focus on EMEA (Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa) securities. Prior to joining Delaware Investments, he worked as Vice President at Artha Capital Management. Mr. Schoenfeld earned a bachelor's degree in history from Clark University, a master's in international history from London School of Economics, and an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School.

Dr. Tung brings considerable knowledge to Delaware Investments in the technology and healthcare sectors and will cover those sectors across all regions for the firm's Emerging Markets team. He spent the prior 20 months as a vice president at the Galleon Group, where he performed fundamental research in the medical technology and biotechnology sectors. Dr. Tung began his professional career in the medical field from 2001 to the beginning of 2003, first as a physician at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital of the Tufts University School of Medicine, and then as an anesthesiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Tung received bachelor's degrees in economics and biology, summa cum laude, from George Washington University, where he spent a year at Oxford University in England as one of only three students awarded the Pembroke College Scholarship. He earned his medical doctorate and an MBA from the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Mr. Zhang is responsible for covering Asia for the Emerging Markets team. Before joining Delaware Investments, he worked with Mr. Chen at Evergreen Investment Management Company. Mr. Zhang earned his bachelor's degree in economics, with concentrations in finance and management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and has taken executive programs in forensic accounting for credit and equity analysts at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He also has earned his CFA designation.

Mr. Brown joins the Focus Growth Equity team, based in San Francisco. He is responsible for managing the team's processes and maintaining client relationships. Most recently, he spent three years as a director in institutional equity sales at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Brown received his bachelor's degree in history from the University of California at Berkeley, and he earned his MBA in finance from the University of California at Los Angeles.
