Computer Sciences Q3 EPS Tops Estimate; Boosts FY14 Outlook

(RTTNews) - IT service provider Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) reported net income for the third quarter of $141 million or $0.94 per share, compared to $510 million or $3.27 per share for the year-ago quarter. Earnings from continuing operations for the third quarter were $0.98 per share, compared to $0.71 per share in the prior year quarter.

Revenue for the third quarter fell to $3.23 billion from $3.54 billion in the same quarter last year.

Analyst polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.84 per share on revenue of $3.23 billion for the third quarter.

The company raised its fiscal 2014 outlook for earnings from continuing operations to a range of $3.80 to $3.90 per share from its prior outlook of $3.50 to $3.70 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $3.68 per share for the fiscal year 2014.
