Circuit City Stores, Inc. Names Jeffrey S. Stone Executive Vice President - New Business Development

RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Circuit City Stores, Inc. today announced that Jeffrey S. Stone has joined the company as executive vice president -- new business development. Stone will oversee the growth and development of The City(TM) concept stores, firedog(SM) services and ongoing innovation work.

Stone, 51, was most recently president and chief operating officer of Tivoli Audio, LLC, a manufacturer of high-end audio devices. Prior to Tivoli, Stone spent 15 years at Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, Inc., joining as president and chief operating officer in 1990 and named chief executive officer in 1999. During his tenure, Tweeter grew from a 13-store regional chain into a 177-store chain generating more than $825 million in sales.

Prior to joining Tweeter, Stone was executive vice president for Bread & Circus, an organic natural food retailer, and oversaw store operations, human resources, marketing and purchasing. His career also includes roles in human resources at Scandinavian Designs/Scandinavian Gallery and store operations at Levitz Furniture.

Reporting to Stone are Marc J. Sieger, senior vice president, general manager -- services and Steven P. Pappas, senior vice president, president -- small stores.
