Chick-fil-A Opens On Sunday To Feed Orlando Blood Donors

(RTTNews) - A Chick-fil-A restaurant in Orlando, Florida was open on Sunday and provided free sandwiches and iced tea to people who had come to donate blood, following the weekend's horrific massacre at an Orlando nightclub Pulse that left 49 people dead.

Chick-fil-A, a fast-food restaurant that specializes in chicken sandwiches, is popular for its founder Truett Cathy's Southern Baptist beliefs as the restaurants are closed for business on Sunday as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

"Our restaurant, along with a couple of others in the area, simply responded just like numerous other Orlando businesses and residents have done -- we came together as a community to lift those in need," the Chick-fil-A wrote on its Facebook page.
