Celanese Corporation Reschedules Publication of Earnings to February 2

    DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2005--Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE)(FWB: CZZ) today announced that it has rescheduled the date of its fourth quarter earnings press release from February 17 to February 28. Completion of the year-end financial closing has been delayed due to significant efforts required to complete the financial and regulatory processes associated with the company's change in ownership and recent IPO, as well as other registration and filing requirements in both the U.S. and Germany.
    Celanese Corporation completed its IPO on January 21, which required the filing of an S-1 registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In addition, the company will file an amendment to its Form S-4 filing with the SEC today to meet a required deadline for the registration of its senior subordinated notes. The company also was required to complete a mandatory statutory filing for its German subsidiary.
    An annual report on Form 10-K for Celanese Corporation is scheduled to be filed on or before the March 30 deadline.
