Cardinal Financial Q4 Profit Jumps 90%

(RTTNews) - Cardinal Financial Corp. (CFNL) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $10.5 million or $0.32 per share, compared to $5.5 million or $0.18 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, operating net income for the fourth quarter increased 56% to $11.1 million or $0.34 per share, from $7.1 million or $0.23 per share in the prior year quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.28 per share for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's net interest income for the fourth quarter rose 14% to $27.2 million from $23.8 million a year earlier.

Non-interest income for the quarter increased to $2.3 million from $1.2 million last year.
