Cabot Microelectronics Corp. Receives Intel's Preferred Quality Supplier Award

Cabot Microelectronics Corp. was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s 2007 Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company is awarded for its efforts supplying Intel with CMP polish slurries for flash and logic technologies. Cabot Microelectronics Corp. and 34 additional PQS award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, California on March 18. "We are once again pleased to receive this prestigious supplier award from Intel, whom we value as an important customer,” stated William P. Noglows, Cabot Microelectronics’ chairman and chief executive officer. "The criteria to earn this award require high performance and consistent execution in product development, manufacturing and customer support which are critical aspects of our strategic initiatives: technology leadership, operations excellence, and connecting with customers.” "Cabot Electronic Materials has earned a repeat PQS by providing exemplary materials at great quality. We appreciate their efforts in 2007 and look forward to their continued success in 2008,” said Kim Gupta, Chemicals and Gas operations manager, Global Fab Materials, Intel Corporation. The PQS awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality systems assessment. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://supplier.intel.com/quality. Intel will also recognize PQS award winners with an advertisement in the U.S., Europe and Asia editions of The Wall Street Journal on March 18, 2008. About Cabot Microelectronics Corp.
