Briggs & Stratton Profit Tops Estimate, Sales Misses; Lifts Lower End Of FY EPS
(RTTNews) - Briggs & Stratton Corp (BGG), a maker of air cooled gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, on Wednesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $6.9 million or $0.15 per share. This compares with a profit of $700 thousand or $0.01 per share last year.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.26 per share compared with $0.05 per share a year ago.
Revenues for the quarter were $444.3 million compared with $416.6 million in the prior year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.14 per share on revenues of $453.8 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For the full year 2015, the company now expects earnings of $1.20 to $1.35 per share, up from prior guidance of $1.14 to $1.35 per share. It continues to expect sales of $1.94 billion to $2.0 billion.
Analysts expect earnings of $1.18 per share on revenues of $1.94 billion for 2015.
