Brian Lewis Named Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications for FOX Television Stations and FOX News
In this new capacity, he will oversee all corporate communicationsand public relations functions for the television and online divisionsof Fox Television Stations, as well as the television, radio andonline sectors of FOX News, which will encompass the proposed businessnetwork if launched. Mr. Lewis will also serve as a Senior Adviser toMr. Ailes and continue to report directly to him.
In making the announcement, Ailes said, "Brian is one of the bestcorporate communications professionals in the business. He has metwith unparalleled success in helping to build and maintain theintegrity of the Fox News brand from its infancy. I look forward tohim doing the same for the Stations Group and Twentieth Televisionwith his newly added responsibilities."
Prior to his promotion, Lewis served as the Senior Vice President,Corporate Communications for FOX News since 2000. He was one of thefirst employees hired by Ailes at Fox, joining the company in April1996, seven months prior to the launch of FOX News Channel (FNC). AsVice President of Media Relations, Lewis oversaw the public relationsstrategy for the successful launch and positioning of FNC, which hasbecome the most written about network in television.
Before his tenure at FOX News, he was Vice President, MediaRelations and Corporate Communications at CNBC for five years. Lewisjoined CNBC after its merger with the Financial News Network (FNN),where he served as Director of Media Relations. Previously, he heldsenior public relations roles at Rubenstein Associates and WishnerCommunications.
A graduate of St. John's University, Lewis also received a Masterof Arts degree in Organizational Communication from FairleighDickinson University and is currently an adjunct professor at theUniversity's Graduate School.
The Fox Television Stations group, one of the nation's largestowned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprises 35 stations in26 markets, covering nearly 45% of U.S. television homes. Thisincludes five duopolies in the top 10 markets -- New York, LosAngeles, Chicago, Dallas and Washington D.C.-- as well as duopolies inHouston, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Orlando.
