BNY Mellon: Asia-Pacific ETF AUM To Reach $250 Bln By 2016 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Bank of New York Mellon Corp., or BNY Mellon (BK) Tuesday announced that the Asia-Pacific exchange-traded funds or ETF assets under management would grow as much as 50 percent to reach $250 billion by 2016, from its today's base of nearly $165 billion.

Currently, Hong Kong and China together account for nearly 35 percent of total ETF assets under management or AUM in the region, with Japan accounting for about 45 percent. Hong Kong and China ETF market is expected to outpace APAC regional ETF growth of 15 percent-20 percent annually. Further, the company added that the local market infrastructure and regulatory reforms are required to support China's ETF market.
