BMW Motorrad Records 15.2% Increase In January Sales

(RTTNews) - BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle brand of the German luxury car giant Bayerische Motoren Werke AG or BMW Group (BAMXY.PK, BAMXF.PK, BMW.L) recorded 15.2 percent increase in motorcycles and maxi scooters compared to the prior year. The company sold 6263 units for the month compared to 5438 units a year ago. The company said this is the best sales record ever for January.

Heiner Faust, BMW Motorrad Head of Sales and Marketing said, "Following the fourth record year in succession, 2015 is off to a very successful start for BMW Motorrad... Never before have we sold more motorcycles in the first month of the year than in January 2015. Our current model range is meeting a strong demand worldwide. Numerous innovative and emotional vehicles will be supplementing our product portfolio this coming season."

The company plans dealer launch of BMW S 1000 RR by spring 2015. The new model has increased engine output, a weight reduction of 4 kg and even further enhanced usability. For the next season, it plans offer the new BMW R 1200 R and the R 1200 RS and also a new edition of the F 800 R.
