BMC Software Completes Next Phase of BladeLogic Integration

BMC Software (NYSE:BMC) today announced that it has completed the next step in the integration of BladeLogic, demonstrating significant new Service Automation solutions in front of a record-breaking number of attendees at its annual EMEA user conference in Lisbon. At the event, customers and partners saw live demonstrations of BladeLogic Operations Manager working with BMC Incident Management, Change Management, Atrium CMDB and Run Book Automation to automatically identify, validate and correct an IT compliance violation using ITIL best practices. Unique to BMC, this seamless integration and automation dramatically improves service levels, reduces the cycle time to complete complex tasks by over 90 percent, and enables IT staff to manage five times as many servers as before. The company also appointed two BladeLogic executives to key management posts in the combined company, including: John McMahon, formerly BladeLogic’s chief operating officer, was named BMC’s senior vice president for worldwide sales and services, reporting to Bob Beauchamp, BMC’s president and chief executive officer. In this capacity, McMahon will be a member of BMC’s Executive Leadership Team. Cosmo Santullo, who held this role previously, will be departing from BMC later this month. Vijay Manwani, formerly BladeLogic’s chief technology officer, has accepted a new role as BMC’s chief technology officer for Service Automation, reporting to Jim Grant, senior vice president and general manager of BMC’s Enterprise Service Management business unit. As previously announced, Dev Ittycheria, formerly the president and chief executive officer of BladeLogic, has joined BMC Software as senior vice president for strategy and corporate development. Ittycheria also reports to Beauchamp and is a member of BMC’s Executive Leadership Team. "I am very pleased that John McMahon has agreed to take on the top sales and services role at BMC,” Beauchamp said. "John is a seasoned senior sales executive with a very successful track record of driving high performance, growth-oriented sales organizations that run very efficiently and deliver outstanding results. I also want to thank Cos Santullo for his strong contribution to the restructuring and realigning of our sales organization. Cos drove many of the efforts that have successfully moved BMC from a product-centric company to a strategic solutions provider.” About BMC Software BMC Software is a leading global provider of enterprise management solutions that empower companies to automate their IT and align it to the needs of the business.
