Arrow Electronics Promotes Michael J. Long to Senior Vice President

MELVILLE, N.Y., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Arrow Electronics, Inc. today announced that Michael J. Long, president, North America and Asia/Pacific Components, has been named a senior vice president of the corporation, effective immediately.

"Mike has demonstrated strong leadership within our North American Components business over the past year and recently his responsibilities have expanded to include Asia Pacific. In every assignment Mike has excelled in driving our organization to higher levels of success," said William E. Mitchell, president and chief executive officer, Arrow Electronics. "This is a well-deserved recognition of his achievements and contributions to the corporation," Mr. Mitchell noted.

Mr. Long holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, and studied electrical engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. During his career, Mr. Long led both Capstone Electronics -- an Arrow company -- and Gates/Arrow Distributing as president. Prior to a merger between Arrow and Schweber Electronics in 1991, Mr. Long was regional vice president for Schweber, among other leadership roles, after joining Schweber in 1983. From 1998 to 2005, Mr. Long was president and chief operating officer, Arrow North American Computer Products (now Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions).
