America's Top 10 Youth Volunteers of 2017 to be Announced Today at the 22nd Annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

TODAY, 9:30 A.M. – Honorees Promote Literacy at D.C. Elementary School

WHAT:     

The State Honorees will present donated books to the school and conduct small group reading sessions with the students.

TODAY, 12:45 P.M. – Nation's Top Ten Youth Volunteers of 2017 Announced

WHERE:   

Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, 1301 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.

WHAT:     

Sandy Scott, senior advisor to the CEO and state commission liaison at the Corporation for National and Community Service, and Jason Botel, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education and Acting Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education, at the U.S. Department of Education, will help announce the nation's top 10 youth volunteers of 2017. The 10 National Honorees will be presented with personal awards of $5,000, gold medallions, crystal trophies and $5,000 Prudential Foundation grants for charitable organizations of their choice. 

TODAY, 2:30 P.M. – Japanese Delegation to Donate Books at D.C. School

WHAT:      

Japan's Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honorees will present donated original books to the school and will read them to the students in attendance.
