American Water Works CEO Jeff Sterba To Retire, Susan Story To Succeed

(RTTNews) - American Water Works Co. Inc. (AWK) Thursday said Jeff Sterba will retire from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of American Water, on May 9, 2014. Susan Story, the company's SVP and CFO has been elected to takeover Sterba's role.

Sterba will stay on as an advisor to Story to ensure a smooth transition until January 1, 2015. The company will also name Story's CFO successor prior to May 2014.

Before joining American Water, Story served as EVP of Southern Company. In that role she was also president and CEO of Southern Company Services.
