American States Water Co. Reveals 16% Fall In Q1 Profit

(RTTNews) - American States Water Co. (AWR) reported a profit for first quarter that retreated from last year.

The company said its earnings came in at $10.15 million, or $0.28 per share. This was lower than $12.15 million, or $0.32 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.32 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 7.3% to $93.53 million. This was down from $100.93 million last year.
