American Eagle Outfitters Q2 Profit Beats Estimates - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (AEO) reported that its second-quarter net income increased to $33.3 million from $5.8 million, prior year. EPS was $0.17 compared to $0.03.
On average, 28 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.14 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total net revenue increased 12% to a record $797 million from $711 million last year. Consolidated comparable sales increased 11%. Analysts expected revenue of $769.56 million for the quarter.
American Eagle Outfitters expects third quarter EPS to be approximately $0.28 to $0.31. The company noted that the guidance excludes potential asset impairment and restructuring charges. Analysts expect the company to report earnings per share of $0.28.
