Alere Q3 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Alere Inc. (ALR) reported fourth-quarter net loss available to common stockholders of $28.4 million or $0.34 per share, wider than $9.1 million or $0.11 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Loss from continuing operations for the latest fourth quarter widened to $21.5 million or $0.32 per share, from $1.4 million or $0.06 per share in the prior year quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted income was $0.66 per share, compared to $0.68 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Net revenue for the fourth quarter fell to $666.86 million from $673.12 million a year earlier, while adjusted net revenue declined to $667.14 million from $673.63 million last year.

On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.59 per share on revenue of $660.66 million for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
