LogMeIn, Inc. (LOGM) was up 10 percent to $43.25. The company swung to a profit on a GAAP basis and its non-GAAP earnings per share topped analysts' expectation. Total revenue increased 31 percent and came above the consensus estimate. The company forecast second quarter and fiscal 2014 results above analysts' view.
Decliners:
Twitter, Inc. (TWTR) declined 10 percent to $38.20. The company's first quarter net loss widened from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted result topped Street view. Revenue rose 119 percent and came above the consensus estimate. Average Monthly Active Users were 255 million as of March 31, 2014, an increase of 25 percent year-over-year. The company guided second quarter revenue in line with market view and also raised its full year 2014 revenue guidance.
eBay Inc. (EBAY) fell 4 percent to $52.20. The company slipped to a loss in its first quarter, but its adjusted earnings per share were above analysts' estimate. Revenue improved 14 percent and came above the consensus estimate. The company forecast second quarter adjusted earnings per share below Street view, while revenues in line with the consensus estimate.
United States Steel Corp. (X) declined over 1 percent to $25.90. The company's first quarter adjusted earnings per share and net sales were below Street view. For the second quarter, the company expects reduced income from operations and its production to be limited which will temporarily slow shipments primarily due to continued weather-related logistical issues affecting both raw materials and finished products.
DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (DWA) declined 1 percent to $26.00. The company slipped to a loss in its first quarter, due to an impairment charge of $57 million related to the performance of Mr. Peabody & Sherman in the worldwide theatrical market. The company noted that box office shortfall of Mr. Peabody & Sherman is evidence of the current challenges it face within its feature film segment.
Vistaprint N.V. (VPRT) fell 14 percent to $46.00. The company's third quarter results were below Wall Street view. The company expects full-year non-GAAP adjusted earnings below market view, while revenue in line with estimate.
