After-market Movers For April 23 (AAPL, FB, TXN, ZNGA, QCOM, XLNX)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Apple Inc. (AAPL) gained over 7 percent to $565.40. The company's second quarter results topped Wall Street view. iPhone unit sales were up 17 percent year-over-year. The company expects third quarter revenue in line with analysts' estimate. The company also announced that it has increased its share repurchase authorization to $90 billion and its quarterly dividend by 8 percent. The company's board also announced a seven-for-one stock split.
Facebook, Inc. (FB) gained 4 percent to $63.78. The company's first quarter earnings and revenue surged from the prior year quarter and exceeded expectations. Facebook said its finance chief David Ebersman has informed his intention to step down and will be succeeded by David Wehner.
Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN) rose 3 percent to $48.00. The company's first quarter results topped analysts' expectations. The company forecast second quarter revenue in line with market view and earnings per share above Street view.
Zynga, Inc. (ZNGA) was up 5 percent to $4.65. Th company slipped to a loss in its first quarter and its adjusted result matched Street view. Revenues declined 36 percent, but came above market view. The company forecast second quarter revenue below estimate, but non-GAAP result to exceed expectation. Zynga also announced that founder Mark Pincus has decided to move on from his operational role as Chief Product Officer to focus on serving in his role as Chairman.
Decliners:
QUALCOMM Inc. (QCOM) fell 5 percent to $76.30. The company's second quarter earnings improved from the year-ago quarter. Adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street view, while revenues missed the consensus estimate. The company also provided a weak earnings outlook for the third quarter, but raised its expectations for fiscal year 2014.
Xilinx Inc. (XLNX) declined over 4 percent to $50.00. The company's fourth quarter profit improved from the prior year period, but missed analysts' estimate. Revenues rose 16 percent and topped the consensus estimate. The company forecast June quarter sales to be up 0 percent to 4 percent sequentially.
