Aetna to Expand Its Health and Wellness Program for International Members

As part of its continued commitment to total employee health and wellness, Aetna (NYSE:AET) announced today that it will expand its Aetna Global Health Connections program to provide international members with an additional resource to help manage their health while on assignment.

The Wellness Checkpoint® Health Risk Assessment (HRA) from InfoTech Inc. is an online, interactive, multicultural and multilingual HRA with comprehensive reporting abilities. It will assist international members in identifying their health risks and assessing, tracking and improving their overall health status. Available in 16 languages, the tool adjusts to the cultural preferences and supports clinical metrics appropriate to the country of residence. It also meets international and national standards and complies with privacy, security and accessibility requirements and regulations.

"The Wellness Checkpoint® HRA, which enhances our existing health assessment offerings, is a tremendous resource for our customers, particularly those with multinational, multicultural employee populations,” said Tim Blevins, Head of Medical and Network Operations for Aetna Global Benefits (AGB). "And because it is available in 16 languages, more of our members can now assess, track and improve their health.”

The availability of this offering within the Aetna Global Health Connections suite of health and wellness programs further supports Aetna’s commitment to member health and wellness across the continuum of care and stages of an international assignment.

Zorianna Hyworon, Founder and CEO of InfoTech, added, "The integration of Wellness Checkpoint® into Aetna’s existing programs offers their customers and members an even broader view of health, which includes the physical and mental well-being of employees and their families. This tool also effectively enables informed decisions and action at the employee, program and business level in order to reduce health risks and enhance the quality of life both within and outside of the work setting.”

Aetna Global Health Connections, which initially launched in April 2008, includes, but is not limited to, an International Disease Management Program, an International Maternity Management Program and a relationship with Weight Watchers®.
